I just recently moved my neon pothos outside for better light but now I’m worried the sun is causing these brown spots. Planta says not to water her for 4 more days. What should I do?

Did you tell planta you changed the location?
0 J'aimeYes I did.
1 j'aimeOk, I was hoping updating it would help you with watering. I’m still learning with my first pothos so hopefully someone experienced will chime in soon. In the meantime, I would personally mist the leaves with water as that won’t hurt. If it was mine, I would check how dry the dirt is too and water if it’s dry.
1 j'aimeMisting while a plant is in direct sunlight can actually cause more damage, the water acts as a magnifying glass and can scorch the leaves. I know you have good intentions but if you don’t actually know how to help don’t suggest stuff like that 🤗
6 J'aimeThanks for your advice! I appreciate it
1 j'aimeThank you for mentioning that! I didn’t even register that this plant was in full sun.🤦♀️ Good catch! Mine is in the shade on my porch so I was just thinking about what I would do if mine looked like that. As for not offering advice if you are not sure, that would be why I clarified what I was saying by first stating I was not experienced with this plant. As this plant isn’t supposed to be in direct sunlight, it didn’t cross my mind that it was. No one can catch everything which is why it’s always good to wait for several opinions before responding. I often offer advice after people who have given bad advice. There is a tactful way to do it and a rude way. I know it is hard to balance on that line, but please don’t suggest people not comment because they missed something. That is always the rude choice. Especially if they didn’t pretend to be an expert. You can politely inform people of their mistake without telling them not to offer advice. There are literally people on here saying ”pro tip” when they just got their first plant a couple weeks ago. And even they are welcome to offer their advice on here. I know it can be frustrating, but we need to be polite to everyone. Please help keep Planta a welcoming place for all skill levels.❤️ As for me, I might be more experienced with some plants, but I am still learning like the rest of us. I told her what I would personally do as an inexperienced pothos owner. I think giving inexperienced comments are just fine, as long as you let people know you aren’t experienced.
6 J'aime1. It’s getting sunburn so move it out of direct sunlight. Try moving it to a spot with bright indirect light, maybe under a patio/umbrella. It will still get good light since it’s outside but it can’t tolerate direct sun. 2. Water when the soil is dry, I use a wooden skewer. If soil sticks to the skewer the soil is still damp and I hold off watering. If it’s completely dry then water.
7 J'aimeThank you! I watered her because the soil was very dry, and I moved her under my umbrella! 😊
2 J'aimeyou literally wrote what was in my brain! too early to say i love you ? 😂🌿💚
1 j'aimeI agree with the other comments, full sun is definitely not great for pothos. I water mine when the soil is fully dry and only mist it when the sun is not shining directly onto it.
