Hey I’m new here and I just got this plant from my grandma. She had had this for 18 years and it has been surviving on well water but it needed some help because it had a lot of hard water build up and hasn’t been repoted since she got it as a baby. I got it a new pot and got it all untangled and stung along my wall I was just needing some tips on how to encourage her to produce more leaves she’s really long but not fluffy. Picture on the left is before I repotted and you can see the hardwater build up at the bottom of the bucket On the right is the most recent picture of it right now

    If you want her to be bushier, you’re going to have to pinch her back. As painful as it sounds, it would sure help her. Plus, you can always root the cuttings and share them with others. If you want the plant to be long, and trailing all over the place, you can continue to do that. But to be more full and have more leaves, definitely pinch her back. I’d say quite a lot. You might want to give her some fertilizer as well. ❤️

    My first thought was the same as Gaileen’s and it’s to cut off the bare vines back to the rim. It sounds drastic. But, the new growth will be full and raised without the effects of hard water and scale. It will look healthier. Propagate, give or sell the extra vines. I would add a single plant grow light close to the plant to help it thrive. Water when the leaves are slightly limp and the soil is dry. Fertilize at least once a month. 🪴🍀

    Yeah i agree with everyone. I would cut all the vines off and propagate them. I've done this many times and the top of the soil a bunch of new leaves will come through.
