I got this new pothos plant and repotted it because the soil was old. There are still yellow leaves and drooping/curling of the leaves. It’s been watered enough and has plenty of light. No chance of root rot or pests. Please advise. Additionally, there are tan sections of the vine that look almost like a husk?

When did you get it/repot it? When was it last watered? And what kind of humidity do you have/region is it in?

I repotted it about three days ago, and normally my plants are fine after 1-1.5 days. The humidity is fine but it could need more?

Hmmm yeah, I’d give it a few more days, sometimes it takes a week to get over the shock. Yeah Scindapsus definitely likes more humidity than pothos and the like. Especially when it’s acclimating. I agree with DrChickadee too by getting some node with leaf cuttings to save the plant and fill it out later once it gets over the drama lol

I got this plant a couple months ago and I think it got shocked when it was repotted. Either that or I pulled off roots by accident when I was doing it. A lot of the plant curled up and it took a long time to recover. My recommendation after spending a lot of time rehabbing is to cut off anything that looks unhealthy and prioritize the good growth. If you want to try and propagate some cuttings from the vines that you cut off, I found that wrapping the nodes in moist sphagnum moss and putting in a clear Starbucks cup with the lid on helped them root the best. I'll plant those back with the mother plant to get her nice and full again.

Replacing all the soil will damage the roots. It could take a couple of weeks for a plant this size to recover. It looks like it’s been under watered awhile based on completely dried tip in the last photo. So, it will take awhile to fully hydrate. This means several leaves will yellow and fall off.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the stems?

Like Sunny was saying, I’d say the stems are just a byproduct of being underwatered for a long time, also could be old growth and low humidity

Im starting to think there may in fact be root rot. The leaves continue to curl with water and turn yellow/fall off. Should I risk disrupting her to clean/trim the roots and repot or just keep hoping she adjusts to her new pot?
