please help!!! she’s had two rounds of spider mite treatment and I just want to make sure i’m on the right track. the first time I treated these brown dry spots weren’t there. this is happening to basically all of the oldest leaves at the base and new growth has not been affected at all, even the ones growing in at the base.

Hmmmm how did you treat for spider mites?

60/40 water to isopropyl alcohol mix with a teeny bit of dawn. sprayed each leaf individually and physically wiped the top and bottom with a brush to get all the nooks and crannies

Okay, that’s good. Hmmm, usually brown spotting with yellow halo, is due to overwatering or fungal issues. What kind of soil do you have it in?

I just have all purpose soil with perlite and orchid bark and let it dry completely between watering. about two weeks ago I first treated for spider mites with a shower and therefore it got watered too soon and then the brown spots came up after that so that could be the cause. double issue spider mites and fungal maybe??

Ahhh yep, there ya go. That’s the culprit, could be the all purpose soil as well since those are heavy on the peat moss which just soaks up water and takes forever to dry out, especially using it indoors. So, I’d suggest a few steps. 1) Get some cactus succulent soil, you’ve got good amendments already to add to that and make it chunky, since pothos is an aroid and loves a more aerated mix. 2) when you are repotting, cut off any brown squishy looking roots, they will only spread the fungal issue more, also clip off the leaves with the issue too. 3) soak the roots in a 60/40 water and hydrogen peroxide mix for about 5-10 minutes, this will hopefully kill off the rot. 4) optional, but you might want to take some good nodal cuttings just in case the mother plant doesn’t make it. 5) do not water it for a good ten days or so, also if it’s in ceramic or plastic pots they hold onto moisture a lot more than terracotta pots do and that can be another culprit
