Hey everyone is this something to worry about on my golden pothos? I got it two months ago and it’s in a hanging pot in a west window with no drainage holes as it’s the pot I bought her in. Should I repot in a new pot? Or repot her back into the same pot and drill holes into the bottom? The little holes & brown spots on some leaves just worry me about pests but I haven’t spotted any other signs. Thank you
She is also pushing out a lot of new leaves and I mist her every other day until I can get a humidifier, although my room is already a bit humid in the summer

You don’t need to mist a pothos, they are okay in most humidity levels, including ones on the lower level. You really don’t need to mist any indoor plant but that’s another discussion. The only issue i’ve had environment-wise is with a draft or being in line with an AC, they will droop their leaves.
2 likes Yes you need drainage holes, your plant will be overwatered and die very quickly if you don’t. I can’t imagine they sold you a plant in a pot without drainage holes.. this looks like a pot where you can take off the bottom to reveal the drainage holes. If you still want it to hang, you can definitely repot it and place the nursery pot into this one, or get another more decorative hanging pot, up to you!
2 likes I tried to take it off but nope! It really doesn’t have drainage holes lol. I just started getting into the hobby when I got this plant and I’ve been happy with her progress as she’s gotten way bigger, but I will most likely take the advice of putting it in a nursery pot and then back into the pot I have. Thank you!

Hi! Sometimes pots come with a removable plastic piece on the bottom that covers the drainage holes—I learned that the hard way, lol. One of the leaves on my pothos has similar marks too, but they were from damage it had before or around the time I got it. In my opinion, it looks more like physical damage than a disease or anything serious. (I’m not an expert though!) The best thing to do is keep an eye on new growth, since that’s a good indicator of your plant’s overall health. You can trim the damaged leaves if you’d like, but they shouldn’t affect the plant too much. Also, make sure the plant isn’t rubbing against anything that could be causing the damage. As for repotting, you can gently slide the plant out of the pot to check if it’s rootbound. Other than that, it looks healthy to me! Your pothos looks really pretty! 😊
Thank you so much you seem like such a kind person! Your info has really helped me! I’ll just accept her imperfections as they are lol, I did check the pot and there is no removable piece, so I’ll most likely take the chance on repotting into a nursery pot

Yes definitely check the roots. I was gifted a pothos and I noticed the leaves would break or become brown. When I checked the roots there was plastic piece embedded into them and I had to cut it out. So please make sure to check that

Pothos require some drainage holes! (As others have already said) if you allow them to properly dry in between waterings they will thrive ❤️ I’ve propagated over 10 new plants from this baby by only watering when needed!

1 like Also, like the person above said, they get root bound quickly! So check those roots and give it just one inch bigger than the root ball, and you’ll be shocked how amazing it starts looking! 🫂
