Hi everyone! Those who have a silver satin, are the lighter tips on this an indication of my new lad here not enjoying the strength of the grow light it’s by, or is it just because they are fresh new leaves and have yet to “set” into a darker color like monstera leaves? This is my first silver satin so I’m still figuring out what is normative. No pests or fungus or anything (the pockmark on the one leaf was there from the cutting I received but is not recent). Thanks!

I have one to the only information I have so far is don’t get water on its leaves. Otherwise they will turn brown or look a little dirty.

Ah thanks for this. I haven’t been misting at all but I’ll keep an eye out for this.

It could be a combination of both. I’ve found that stronger lights have washed out some of the darker green from my Exotica leaves, but I’m getting much larger leaves and faster growth. My leaves with the deepest color are shaded from other plants and also the smallest. Which one is more important to you - richness in color or size and growth? I’ve been experimenting with light intensity and length of run time with my glow lights to find a happy medium. You should do the same. Try moving the grow light back some and see if you get back some of the color you’re looking for.

This is super helpful, thank you. I’m regularly making micro adjustments like that around the grow light it’s near so I’ll play around a bit and see what it likes the best.

I have one and I’ve noticed it’s new leaves are lighter, but get darker over time. (Granted mine is not under a grow light and placed a few feet from the window but seems to do fine without direct / intense light)

I’d wondered if mine would grow into them a bit. I suppose time will tell! Thanks for your comment!
