Planta’s identification feature has become pretty much useless. It is many times not even close. For fun, I used it for what should be a very easy identification. Even tried several different photos. Every attempt came up with Eve’s Needle Cactus. The only similarity is they are cacti. I knew this was a Boobie Cactus but just had to try one more time. Am I in the minority with poor identification from the app? I use Google lens or some other AI search now.

Hi! I’m new here and I went to a plant nursery for the first time. I fell in love with so many plants but this one caught my eye. I am not sure what plant this is. This was also purchased in Hawai’i. The stems is mixed colored green with a bit of purple/red. Any information will be helpful! Thank you!

Need help confirming my Mammillaria ID 🌵 Hi everyone! I recently picked up this cactus and I’m getting mixed IDs, so I’d love your help figuring out what it actually is. The tag says Mammillaria elegans The QR code links to Mammillaria geminispina The Planta app identifies it as Mammillaria haageana I’d love to know which species it most closely matches—or what traits to watch for as it matures.
