So I wanted to figure out if I have a different type of jade plant. The picture I added is a different one I have that seems to be the most common type of jade but it looks vastly different from my mystery jade plant. Does anyone know what this could be?

Definitely a jade, but perhaps it’s a compact variety. https://links.getplanta.com/UZoC here’s a link to an ID for a compact version

I have cuttings from my 30-year old jade that’s more compacted at the top. It’s likely a good sign that it isn’t very leggy, meaning it’s getting enough light for lots of close knit growth

Mine is definitely compacted and as it grows it doesn’t get tall like my other jade plant but it gets wider.

The interesting thing is that your older leaves have more typical large leaves under the smaller newer leaves. So it used to grow those leaves. I wonder if the leaves just look different at different stages or lighting. I have a small jade my mom struggled with and then gave to me. It still has two of its old big leaves, but the rest are smaller and more compact. So🤷‍♀️. Obviously both of ours are happier now, but I guess time will tell if the leaves will become big like the old ones. Here’s mine. I love how yours is almost spiraling though!!😍
