      Oh really? What about my Dumb Cane? Toxic to me? I have no pets tho…

      the dieffenbachia got the name "dumb cane" for its ability to cause intense pain and numbness when swallowed, making you unable to talk (it has a dark history i'll let you research on your own). additionally, it can cause skin irritation, so gloves are generally recommended.

      Interesting! I’ll look into it! Didn’t notice any irritation after repotting mine…without gloves.

      Dieffenbachia are also called dumb cane. I think if you chew it (for some unknown reason) your tongue goes numb. Don’t know if this is an old wives tail, but that’s what I’ve heard.
