Hi! A friend of mine got some plants as a gift, I have two cats, a dog, and a leopard gecko. My cats are the only ones who can/might see them as a snack so I'm wondering if anyone can ID them real quick? (I'm keeping them in a spot they can't get to for now just in case)
The woody one looks like a ficus ginseng, the shiny round leave a Jade plant, and the third an aloe or agave. All 3 are generally labeled NOT pet safe. I think it’s usually a taste reaction/GI upset (vs death) but do your own research before allowing your pets around them.
1 Like Thank you so much! I'll probably have them out of reach just to be safe. Usually my cats just like rubbing up against cacti (they're okay don't worry, just missing a few braincells lol) so worst case it might be okay-ish to have them out. The responsible pet and responsible plant owners in me are both screeching against that plan lol. Again, thank you very much :)

1 LikeIf it becomes an issue, the ficus ginseng would likely do well in a closed terrarium because those like fairly high humidity
1 Like My mom has a collection of plants in our bathroom that gets pretty humid often, it's basically the tropical plants territory lol, thank you for the suggestion :)
