Melothria scabra, also known as the cucamelon, is a flowering plant in the cucumber family. It's a fast-growing, tender tropical perennial that's native to Mexico and Central America. In the US, it's primarily seen in farmers markets and backyard gardens. The cucamelon is a small, edible fruit that looks like a miniature striped watermelon. The fruits are tiny, grape-sized, and taste like cucumbers with a touch of tart sourness.
