Hi friends! I rescued this plant from my grandparent’s house for obvious reasons but was wondering if someone could tell me what it is & if I should prune back the dead leaves or let them fall off on their own. Thanks a bunch! 🫶🏻

I’m not sure what it is but definitely prune off dead damaged or diseased foliage.

It might be the completely brown leaves can come away with a gentle tug if they’re dry, or cut near the base of the leaf. I’d remove them to make the plant neater, avoid attracting pests and so you can better see the plant and make sure it’s healthy. I’m not sure what it is exactly but it looks like a dracaena of some kind.

I’m going to have to cut them, they aren’t loose enough to pull out yet. Thank you!!

Dracaena - which one, not positive.

Thank you. I have a white jewel dracaena & thought it looked similar but wasn’t 100% sure. It was kind of like how pothos & philodendrons look super similar lol. Just hard to tell because it’s not in great health.
