hi, my friend ordered me a mystery plant box for my birthday. it didn’t come with a care guide like it said or even the name of the plant. is this a monstera? can someone confirm for me?

    Yes i believe it’s a monstera deliciosa. I don’t know if you want a quick care guild but here you go, they like humidity so get a humidifier or mist a good amount. Monsteras like the sun so place them next to a window or grow light. Also make sure when your plant gets larger to get a support for it.

    I would suggest a humidifier. Misting is not good to increase humidity for plants. The humidity only last for a little while but your foliage is getting wet when you do which will eventually start fungal issues. It’s best to put this plant on a pebble tray, group with other plants or give it a humidifier. Also make sure you watch this plant closely for pest. I would use a wet paper towel and wipe down the leaves front and back with neem oil.

    Yup that’s a monstera, they’re a fun plant to have. My tips would be avoid placing indirect sunlight to avoid scorching the leaves and maybe look into moss poles depending on if you’d like it to grow taller or spread wider.
