Good morning! I bought this plant last week. It was labeled as jade, but someone suggested it might be an elephant bush. Would love confirmation. Looking at pictures, it does seem like it might be. If it is elephant bush, is the care quite similar to that of a jade plant.

Kind of looks like elephant bush to me, but I’m not familiar with Jade

ID says jade, but it looks similar to an elephant bush bonsai. My guess is elephant bush, it looks like a mini tree (and the photos of jade that I’ve seen don’t look like that)

I have the same and mine is an elephant bush. Dead easy to look after. Yours looks great 👌🏻

So glad to hear it’s easygoing. This is in a 4 inch nursery pot that keeps tipping because the plant is top heavy. Roots look like they could use a little more space too. Do you know what they like as far as pot size goes? I’m thinking this pot might be too big of a jump up in size, but I need to figure out what they prefer.

Possibly a bit too big of a jump. I’ll have a look and see if I can find out something

I’ve found somewhere that says 1 to 2 inches bigger in diameter than the pot it is in. And it needs succulent soil so that it’s a well draining soil.

So that pot could possibly be ok. And it’s a good time to repot 👍🏻

Variegated Jade. Same as regular jade, just has white mixed in. I have regular jade but no pictures at the moment since it’s a rescue from a family member that was struggling with it so it only has 2 leaves.

Trailing elephant push has smaller thinner leaves than Jade but is very green like Jade. Stems are much thinner and floppy as well.

Variegated Elephant Bus is what you have. Lighter streaks on the leaf. Both leaves and stem are thicker than Trailing Elephant Bush, but thinner than Jade. Unlike the trailing variety, it can hold itself up and looks like a mini jade plant in that way.
