Hi! I saved this guy last night, and I can't figure out what it is. I'm kind of thinking it's a Flaming Katy but I'm not entirely sure. Also, any tips on how to save it? I repotted it, watered, and added a small amount of liquid fertilizer.

It looks like a jade plant đ
1 gillaDefinitely looks like a jade. I have one I inherited from my grandmom thatâs 30 years old, and my best advice is it looks like youâre overwatering it. Mine practically thrives on neglect. A well draining pot is also important. You also might wanna check for root rot or mold, which can happen from overwatering.
0 gillningarI got it from my mom last night, and I can almost guarantee it was severely underwatered
0 gillningarIf you do have mold or root rot, this next part might not help. But if the roots seem fine and thereâs no mold, If you have drainage holes in the pot, try putting the pot IN a container with water so that the plant can suck the water up from the bottom up, and when it stops lowering the water line from the container, youâll know it doesnât need any more water. But for now, DO NOT WATER IT. Neglect it if thereâs no mold or root rot. NEGLECT IT. If itâs anything like my jade (which had survived two broken pot accidents via my dad and his elbow, and 30 years of people forgetting to water it) that thing might just thank you for not watering it. Think of it more like a succulent.
1 gillaOh wow. Thatâs really weird with the wrinkling then. I had an issue with that with a new jade I bought and the issue was that I overwatered it and the soil didnt absorb all of it and started to create mold. Iâve found the wrinkling tends to mean overwatering with jades
0 gillningarI would check the soil moisture level at the bottom and check for any mold or root rot, even if I am wrong here
0 gillningarI repotted it in fresh potting soil when I got it home. The soil that it was in the original pot was dry all the way through, so I'm really at a loss here. But I'll keep all of that in mind for future watering. Thank you!
