Any idea what this plant is a friend just left it on my front porch, she was tired of it, said she got it off the side of the road in Florida back in the day, and thinks it's a weed, but my phone says it might be some sort of a split leaf tree philodendron(which it also said was the same as a monstera deliciosa am I trippin😱wuut?!??) however I see no aerial Roots 🪴 kind of looks like a reindeer

Holy crap she’s gorgeous!!! She’s definitely a philodendron but there are a few species she could be. Reminds me of my baby distantilobum but I would guess she’s a Xanadu which is now technically a Thaumatophyllum 😉

2개 좋아요 I know 🤣🤣 she called it the Freddy Krueger plant and said that it leaks sap sometimes off the tips.. or some kind of fluid she was afraid it was going to poison the rest of the plants around it 🤔🪴 weird

the leaking is called guttation, philodendrons are known for doing it. it's just excess water and glucose. it doesn't mean anything in particular, they just do that sometimes 🤷♂️ it won't hurt the plants around it

좋아요 1개 She's like 65 now and she said she used to be into plants obviously not too much cuz she thought it was a weed but you should see the other plant she gave me I'll post it it it's like a massive parlor palm with a 1-ft Woody trunk it's about 3 and 1/2 ft tall, and she's got at least a couple more for me she's just over the whole plant thing in her old age she said so yay for me LOL my variegated shell Ginger And my diphenbachia or my two main big plants in my sunroom it's getting harder to walk around in there now LOL I love it though
