   I’m new to alocasia but my understanding is that this is normal when they are getting rid of a leaf to push out new leaves

     Yes this! It's so frustrating 😫 but it's a natural process for it to lose the bottom most leaf (or oldest leaf) especially as a new one is making its way out.
