Can you tell me more about the coloration on the under side of the leaf? It’s hard to tell from a picture if it’s damage or just part of the leaf’s pattern. In person, does it look more purplish or brown? Does it feel rough or same texture as the rest of the leaf? Is it on more than just one leaf? I’m not super well versed in all the different varieties of alocasia (philodendrons are my obsession lol), but I can offer a lead for you to compare to. Does alocasia “loco” seem like a possibility. I know that most of the pictures that pop up have super wild leaves, but it could be that yours hasn’t matured enough to get those fully-fledged loco leaves. Is it new to you or been growing in your house for a while?

Oooh I think you nailed it! It is more of a purple colour, doesn't appear to be damage.

I was gonna say it looks like a baby loco, or a cross of.
