I’ve recently moved into a new place, and it seems a previous tenant had a bit of a green thumb. Google lens said the purple flowers are irises? I’m just leaving them alone since they seem to be doing fine. I was wondering what those spiky leaves were though? It seems to be climbing up the iris.

    not sure about the spiky thing but those are def irises! the spiky plant might kill the iris if you let it grow up it, be warned!

    I would definitely pull out the spiky leafed plant. Almost looks like an Elm tree. It will take over if you don't get it out.

    I get those in my yard. Not sure what they are but to me they are weeds. They get pulled out. They can have deep roots too.
