Hey everyone, I got this notification about it being too dark for 4 out of my 7 babies. They’re all facing the biggest light source (patio) & I genuinely don’t have another option for the plants (Money Tree, Phil, Swiss & ZZ) unless they go outside all day while I’m at work? Where are you all keeping yours? 😕
Most times I just ignore Planta but if you really don’t think they are getting enough light try using a grow light.

I don’t always agree with their assessment of light. I have had them tell me plants were somewhere too dark and the plants thrived.

Exactly, an iPhone camera isn’t gonna be a great light meter at least as of rn

Agreed! I have several that say light too bright and they are thriving! I don’t listen really to light or water suggestions. But love this community

If you feel like your plants are thriving in the spot you have them with the amount of light they get ignore this app. Just click they use grow lights and they will take that warning away. This app recommended me to not put my rubber plant in the kitchen near one of my windows but I did anyway and it loves it. In this app I have the placement listed as my living room instead. You do what’s best for your environment in your home regardless to what this app suggest

I have a Lantana plant I keep under the dappled shade of a tree because the FL sun is just too much for it. It does really well there and Planta says it’s too dark. If your plants are doing well where they currently are I’d ignore it
1 gillaI bought grow lights when I could and clustered them around my lights when I got them. I currently have 12. I’ll get more this fall as we go into winter
1 gillaPlant dies t want me to put any plants in my west facing window. But that’s where the majority of my plants are, with 7 grow lights in there. I have a large porch overhang that keeps the afternoon sunshine out until 3 pm. They are out there all winter so they get gradual light from the window.
1 gillaThere is not one plant that planta agrees should be in my living room with a west facing window. My window sills are full. I’ve hit a shelf down low in front of the bottom of the window and a tall plant stand in front of the window. All are doing well and most are also using grow lights. I’m going to get two more Barrina stand lights in this side of the plant stand. Then I can take all the lamp on lights down that’s all I see when I look at it. All those black clamp on lights. Are your plants growing, are they healthy appearing. Then they’re pretty ok. Even my zz plants are in the middle of the room. With a clamping light. But everything looks good and is healthy
