So: growth pattern of a birkin without the lines and waxy leaves with light variegation in the lower more mature ones. I am calling him "identity crisis." I have no clue what kind of philodendron he is, please help!

    Could not enough light be the issue? Even though it looks like he has plenty.

    Yes it's in a bright sunny window off an indoor balcony

    Too much direct sunlight can cause variegation to fade, maybe try moving it to indirect light.
