Does anyone know what this is. It’s from southern Michigan. It hasn’t flowered yet and I don’t know if I should leave it or rip it out?

    The long leaved thing is probably a flower; it can be hard to tell those apart from each other before they bloom, but possibly a daylily or an iris. Definitely something you'd want to keep. In case you meant the plant behind it, that looks like lamb's quarters, which is a wild edible plant that doesn't have showy flowers but can make a decent foraged salad
