Just found this beautiful Alocasia at Home Depot: is it an Alocasia Dragon Scale Mint Variegation or something else? Thank you :)

      You should! I put mine right in leca balls!

      I’ll do the same. I’m switching to pon, leca, or mini leca. As soon as I bring them into my house I’ll spray for pests and then move them into the quarantine room. The room is kept warm and I’ve got two grow lights with two wings each. So it’s a perfect place for new plants to be.

      I still wing it but I’ve grown up and back in the 70’s I was into house plants. I moved into a perfect apartment that had a covered walk way so they were outside in November. Then I loved to Portland Oregon. The east winds are brutal and they hadn’t reached me where I lived. I put them out on my patio and tried to cover them with plastic to protect from the frost. It didn’t work I couldn’t bring them in cause none of them had trays under them. And to top it off my balcony faced north. Not good for growth. My next balcony faced south but had some 20 foot (or taller) trees blocking the sun from the plants. It was the biggest tree that bloomed non stop during the summer but anywhere you looked on this tree you’d see honey bees buzzing around on it. So plants have been in and out for years. I only hope that practice makes perfect. It also helps to grow what you know.
