My husband got me this cute little guy for Valentine’s Day and I cannot figure out what he is. He has a very thick trunk. I tried to identify the plant but everything it gave me looked nothing like this guy.

S.RLook up ‘ginseng ficus’, the trunk looks similar, not sure about the leaves though. There was a post a few days ago of someone trying to ID something with a similar chonky trunk and I think they landed on ginseng ficus.

Other names include ficus microcarpa, Chinese banyan, Malayan banyan, Indian laurel, curtain fig. Just had a look on google for more visuals, I think that might be it!

SarahReally looks like my money tree, ( Pachira aquatica ) it may have just been pruned into this particular shape. Mine had leaves just like this when I first bought it.

Just found a photo on a website called jungle boogie, where someone has pruned theirs into the same shape.
