Went and got some more rescues after Milton. Only having problems identify this one I think it’s some sort of philodendron but not 1000 percent sure.

What a great thing to do; I really appreciate you for doing that! When I was watching news videos of Milton, I did wonder what was going to happen to everyone’s beloved house plants; I’m sure not many people would think about this. But, with all that salt water, I thought any plants soaked with it, would be gonners. If you have a moment, I would be interested in how you found these plants, and if you know whether there are other people doing this. TIA for any forthcoming comments…🤗💚🪴

Most of these I found at local stores and they weren’t brought in during the storm so a lot of them were discounted due to wind damage or being poured on.I go to the same places a lot so the workers there know I’m currently in my rescue phase, they shot me a text today. We live on the eastern coast near cocoa beach. I’m hoping to find more as the next couple weeks go by when looking around and going beach side. I’ve been seeing a lot of people that go on searches as well cause a lot of plants were left out as we didn’t think the winds would be nearly as bad as they were.

If you are on the East Coast of Florida, that means that you were on the dirty side of Milton, correct? What were the effects of this hurricane that you experienced? I’m just curious, as I live in Portland, Oregon, and watched all of the terrible weather news about Milton, (in my recliner, no less, 🥲.) TIA for any comments…🤗💚🪴

We saw a lot of wind and rain and a few tornados in our county which is very abnormal. I was originally born and raised here and never have seen anything as nasty as what happened in our neighboring county. I was expecting a lot worse but really am blessed we didn’t see more than we did. I heard tonight is gunna be scarier for those in pasco county. As a lot of that water is still coming back in. They are expecting 20+ feet overnight of river and low lying areas flooding and asked people to evacuate in low lying areas. Which I am terrified for them. A lot are still out of power.

As for us we lost a few fruit trees and just two little pieces of paneling. And now have some extra ants inside. Our neighbor lost there fence and shed. And there’s a couple snapped trees. Our power surged on and off for a while but luckily has been on all but last night for a little bit. We are truly truly blessed.

I’m so glad to hear that you escaped the worst of Milton’s wrath; it was definitely a terrifying and damaging storm. You were certainly blessed to have suffered so little damage. Take care, as you clean up, and repair the mess that Milton left, and bless you for rehabbing all those plants… 🤗💚🪴

PS. You have some really nice plants there! I looked through the pictures of them, and found several, I would just love to have. Good luck with rehabbing them…🤗💚🪴

Thank you so much Lynda. Also not sure where you live but I know a lot of department stores are starting to do winter sales and such to get rid of inventory. My plants are literally my distresser so being able to rehab some into a better life is my goal. 💚🌱

That is so sweet… Again, I applaud your efforts in rehabbing those plants. My plants are also my family; I’m not sure if they are a destresser for me, maybe just the opposite, at times, but, I do love my plants!

Thank you! I just figured do for them what they have been doing for me. And I always feel so bad seeing the sad plants week after week. 💚 they are family and sometimes family can be a pain but we still love them all equally
