I found 10 of these bromeliad-type plants scattered all over the street awhile back. I figured… free plants? Let’s see if I can keep them alive, why not? They’ve been doing really well in my terrarium under grow lights/high humidity and have put out roots. I cannot figure out what species they are. They look like they could be an air plant variety but they have this faint yellow striping on them. Anyone have any ideas? Would love to know!

That's too many roots for an air plant species. It looks more like and orchid species. You might post it in that group as theyd know more. You more than likely won't be able to solidfy the species until the bloom.

Search angraecum, or comet Orchid. I'm curious too now! 🤔

I’m not seeing any comet orchid species that have leaves that have tapered, pointed tips like my plants do. I could be mistaken, I’m not super familiar with orchids, but it seems like most of the orchid leaves I am seeing have round tips.

Kind of looks like aloe vera, but I'm most likely wrong.

If you crack open one of the leave-things and there's goo it's aloe vera. Only if it's a succulent. Can you tell if it's a succulent?

Nevermind I looked closer it's not aloe vera.

It’s thriving in a terrarium (about 85% humidity) so it’s definitely not a succulent.
