Got a new girl today, because of course I did, and am somewhat confused. The store says she's a Monstera Burle Marx Flame. But the app says she's a Burle Marx philodendron. So I looked it up and it said they're just like interchangeable names but........? I kind of don't understand. Like what should I take care of her as? Like what should I put her under on here? Will they have different care schedules?
Burle Marx flame is a monstera. I believe the confusion is due to the incorrect attribution of this coming from a cross involving a philodendron. It is incorrect as the Burle Marx flame was found in nature in Brazil by Burle Marx, and therefore, is not a man made hybrid. If you have never looked into this man, it is a very interesting story of a true plant lover.

2 likes As for your question about the care, personally I logged mine as the option available and haven’t had any issues as long as you monitor the schedule. Which is the same as any other logged since your conditions may not match the ones assumed by the app. ☺️
