Please help I had this Chinese evergreen for 25 yrs. The soil was dry and I watered it as usual. There were 26 plants in the pot and it started to die off so I went to separate her. Which I have done before now look. What is wrong? Please help
Does it have drainage?

Hi, This is a sign of transplant shock. Plants spent a long time building their house (their root structure formation) and when you split them and undid the foundation, the rest of the plant started to decline. Plants that are more thin leaves and less succulent like will show these stress signs more aggressively. I assume you separated them by pulling them apart. Only thing you can do is wait it out and hope it recovers. Any other movement could just kill it. In the future, use a strong hose to blast off the soil and you can untangle with the water and split them safer. Best of luck
2개 좋아요 Thank you 🙏🏽 the individual plants I wanted to put in another planter some of the definitely had new pups or other stems attached. I did leave those in tack. I guess I did just shock them. I had it for 25 yrs. I got it when my grandmother passed and it’s been a beauty look at her before pic
It’s truly beautiful. Just keep it well watered and in a bright spot. Plants recover better in the light (not full sun. Just bright window)
좋아요 1개 And if there’s any rain storms happening, put it outside in the rain. There’s a thing that happens when lightning hits the earth that turns the nitrogen in the air into usable nutrients in the ground and it does wonders for plants. I always put anything fresh repotted outside to get rained on. It’s the best thing for you to do to help your plant develop roots and recover from repot stress.

0개 좋아요That’s interesting. I’ve never heard this before but it makes a little bit of sense. However here in Oregon we really don’t get thunderstorms.
