I was given this little guy, not sure what kind of plant he is. Anyone know?

Looks like a sempervivum

0 Mi piaceAre the roots hidden under that ball of leaves? If so, you can break them off by wiggling gently until you get to the flat leaves so you can bury it properly.
0 Mi piaceOhh yes I see what you mean, I’ll give that a try!
0 Mi piaceThe leaves are so strong! You can’t bend them back without breaking them.
0 Mi piaceMine😊 VERY hardy! Do need lots of light though. But will exist on less light. This one has been in my family since my great grandmother! Don’t ask where the rest of it went!😭 A pack rat found it and thought it was a tasty snack. But I saved this one. I will breathe easier when it has its babies!😅 Unfortunately they don’t propagate from leaves like other succulents. I think the statistic is 1 in 100 might make both roots and a pups. I try to propogate every leaf I have to pull off when up potting it and all the good leaves from the destroyed ones. So I should be close to 100 tries soon.😅🤞
1 mi piaceThat’s so sweet. Oh no hahaha, at least you saved that one! Wow that’s a low ratio, one of them has to eventually! I just tried what you suggested, and I was as careful as I could be, but I still managed to knock off a few healthy leaves, I’ll try those haha
0 Mi piaceYou water them when the lower leaves are pliable like this. Until then, they sit in dry succulent soil in a pot their roots can reach the bottom and sides of.
1 mi piaceThat’s so cool, thanks for all the care tips! I’m going to have to get some succulent soil, as of now the poor thing is in regular potting soil
