Hi! New here, and looking for some help. I’ve had this tree (?) that doesn’t flower, grow new leaves, or thrive no matter what I do. I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that who I got it from had no idea what it was and I still can’t quite figure it out. Any help would incredibly appreciated!!

The leaves look like they could be a fiddle leaf fig but I’m not sure since it’s far away

Can you get a close up on the leaves?

I agree with lola. Looks like a fiddle leaf fig. I don’t have one personally yet as I need a bigger house for one, but Planta does list them as medium to hard care depending on variety. I think they like pretty consistent conditions.

Do you think maybe I should move her inside when I repot her?

It’s a fiddle leaf fig, they hate being touched!

Any advice on how to make her happier? I was gonna repot her into a larger pot tomorrow (she’s a stray lol, she’s in a plastic pot INSIDE of a plastic pot, has no drainage, and her roots are just popping out) should I not repot her? Or what should I do? 😅

Fiddle leaf figs HATE staying wet, drainage is integral to their survival! Def repot, find a good, very well draining, and definitely not heavy, potting medium. Your fiddle leaf may start to look better after these changes. Don’t forget to fertilize it, and you should really support the main stem with something. Oh, and they also should not be getting direct sunlight. Only filtered, bright light. If they get direct light, it stresses the light receptor cells in their leaves and sun bleaches them and eventually burns them.

Wow! Thank you so much! I’ll repot her today then! Do you have a recommendation for potting medium? I don’t have a wide variety at home but I can get anything I need today. I’ll repot her and add a cane or something so she has some extra support. I’ll move her inside once I repot so she can have more regular indirect light. Thank you again so much!!

Try and put in lots of perlite or orchid bark, you could use an aroid mix. Make it very loamy!
