My mathilde bloomed for the first time today! All the peduncles itās had in past years have mostly blasted (she also had mealybug forever) so Iām excited this one stayed! So fuzzy š
My callistophylla is blooming - these are my first Hoya blooms so Iām happy to see them! They donāt seem as vibrant as they could be- is it possibly getting too much sun (or not enough)? Itās in a South window thatās partially shaded by a tree
This might be my favorite smelling Hoya besides the obvious chocolate bloomers š
Hello Hoya lovers! Thinking of potting my Hoya cutting, Gwen, (from my Momās 45+ year old plant!) tomorrow! Any advice is helpful! The pot I plan to use is pictured in the commentsā¦
got this beautiful hoya clemensiorum today!!! š what are some of your wish list hoyas?!?
Iām wondering if I should put this baby on a trellis she is now growing up like I wanted is she ready yet? She bloomed not to long ago also!
After one full year of zero growth, this little plant has two, maybe three new leaves! Iām so excited! I see so many pictures of beautiful Hoyas out there and I wonder to myself, āwhy canāt I get it right?ā Hopefully after several repots and location changes, I found the right mix. Iām crossing my fingers, hoping to one day have an incredibly beautiful and healthy Hoya. Any tips would be appreciated.
Iām currently in a full Hoya craze right now ššæ I honestly only see the benefit of getting them young and watching them thrive over time. I realised this when I bought my Hoya gracilis / memoria fully mature ā I kind of lost a bit of interest in her growth-wise (still love her though š), especially since she even pushed her first bloom which actually sparked my whole obsession again ⨠Donāt get me wrong, I still really love my gracilis ā no hate at all š ā but thereās just something addictive about growing a Hoya from scratch and watching it literally come alive leaf by leaf Itās like the satisfaction level is unreal. The leaves are just everything too ā textured, cute, small, and oddly perfect š Theyāre super easy to keep alive, but getting them to truly thrive and bloom takes patience⦠and honestly I love that. I canāt wait to get more. Also, for some reason Iāve realised Iām not even into variegated plants in general⦠shocking I know š Most of them just look a bit yellow/sickly to me (no offence š«£). I can appreciate them objectively, but theyāre just not for me ā except Hoyas. Variegated Hoyas are the only exception ⨠⸻ šŖ“ My Hoya collection so far: ⢠Hoya gracilis ⢠Hoya obovata ⢠Hoya australis āLisaā ⢠Flamingo Dream ⢠Hoya curtisii (silver form) ⢠Hoya kerrii (green form) ⢠Hoya kerrii (outer variegated) ⢠Hoya burtoniae (inner variegated) ⢠Erythrina ⢠Crassipetiola splash ⢠Hoya mathilde (splash) ⢠Hindu Rope āø» šæ Wishlist (aka future obsession list š): ⢠Hoya mathilde (inner variegated) ⢠Hoya heuschkeliana (variegated) ⢠Hoya sarawakensis ⢠Sunrise ⢠Pink Princess ⢠Krimson Queen ⢠Hoya obovata (variegated) ⢠Hoya meredithii ⢠Hoya callistophylla ⢠Hoya chinghungensis (variegated) ⢠Hoya serpens ā¦and honestly plenty more because the larger Hoya varieties are calling my name š¤ āø» Anyway, thatās enough of my Hoya rant⦠please enjoy my growing little jungle of future giants š
My Hoya cutting, Gwen, has finally produced about half an inch roots! 2 of them! Now I just gotta be patient for them to get longer and have secondary rootsā¦about 2-3 weeks, ya think? Any suggestions are very welcome!
Can someone help me with the exact name for this Hoya? It just says variegated Hoya on it
One of my favorite š
The biggest leaf on my Hoya Sarawak!
I just got this beautiful hindu rope for mother's day, and I was wondering if I should repot it, I know they like to be root bound, its currently in an 8 inch pot, and I know the plant size doesn't indicate the root ball, and I would check, but I don't want to disturb it to check as it is new to my collection and I don't want to stress it out. It has almost 3 feet long tendrils. Please any advice you can give me would be wonderful. Update, the soil is drying quickly, it was dry in a week
This baby has a damaged stem from hanging over the side of the pot. I guess I should have tied it to a stake. Can I save it? I thought if I cut it off above the injury, use some rooting hormone and stick it in soil?
Can anyone give me an identification for this one? I know it's a Hoya.
excited to see my hoya krohniana bloom soon šš¤
Hey yāall! Iām new to the group but Iāve had my Hoya compacta (Curly) for about a year. Would you mind helping me with some guidance/encouragement/advice from more experienced Hoya lovers? āŗļø Whatās the growth rate of your Hoyas and how long did they get before they started blooming? This is Curly (looking a little on the damp side because she just got misted). I got her almost a year ago now and she was slightly smaller but it doesnāt look like sheās grown much. I know that compactas are slow-growing but surely there would be progress by nowā¦? Any advice/suggestions/encouragement? I have her in my office which, because of the lighting, gets enough light that it technically classifies as part-sun/part-shade. My only concern would be the temperature which, being an office in a hallway, means I have no control. I keep a personal space heater on hand just in case. (Probs need to get a thermometer to gauge actual temps.) **oh, the powder is diatomaceous earth - my precaution against fungal gnatsā¦. The bane of my indoor gardening experience. Anyway, itās nice to find a community of plant enthusiasts to go to for stuff like this š
Saw this hoya on a discount rack and couldnāt pass it up. Love the leaves! 𤩠Question, how can you tell if itās a hoya callistophylla vs a hoya callistophylla āblack catā?
What should I do since the runners reached the top? I tried wrapping the largest one back down the macrame, but it wonāt stick. Should I just cut it back?
