Hello! I got a few new plants while traveling last week. I have them quarantined currently. I sprayed them down with neem oil. I have heard Hoya compacta are prone to pests. I only got a small piece so I am hoping for advice/suggestions on how to best care for it. TIA! 😁

Just wanting to double-check I’m doing this right.
Mr Hoya (I’m not sure which specific species, so probably carnosa?) has been handed down through the generations — we are at least certain that the original plant dates back to the 1920s and my great-grandmother, but I’m not sure if this is a propagation from the original. If this is the original, my dad said he could be a generation or two older. He’s always been kept in humid places like New York, Minnesota and Northern Virginia. My parents have been stationed in the UK for 3 years, so now it’s my turn to care for Mr Hoya. My parents just shipped him 1700 mi to me in Colorado.
They also say that he hadn’t been repotted in 10 years, and was suffering from “benign neglect”. 🥴
He was watered every 6 days when with my parents, but since it’s significantly drier here, should I water more often? I also am willing to mist him as needed.
He’s potted in a 10” pot with 2(ish) parts indoor potting soil, 1 part perlite, and 1 part orchid bark because I’m slightly terrified that I’ll drown him by accident. I also got him a wall trellis, but my mom says he’s never been super interested in climbing…
Any advice? I feel like I got thrown in the deep end, as a certified black thumb.

Can anyone help me identify these Hoyas? The first was a gift with no label, and the other was just labeled as “black margin” when I got it. After googling I’ve come to learn that just describes the black coloring around the leaf edges and doesn’t apply to a single species of Hoya. Thanks in advance for the help!

Is your Hoya Krohniana Black not black? The picture shows the one I bought a few months ago that clearly has black leaves. The one next to arrived yesterday without dark leaves. Both are supposed to be the black variety. I’m assuming the green one needs more sun. So, I put it outside to get morning to see if it will tan. 🤨

Is it ok to repot a Hoya while it’s blooming or should I wait until it’s done? Thanks so much!

My Hoya Elliptica finally put out a full healthy set of blooms and they are very juicy! The nectar has a light sugary flavor. I’m not sure if it will attract ants since it’s outside on a stool.
Before you ask, I’m not a card carrying member of the hoya licking community! I didn’t even know nectar eating was a “thing” until recently! Hoya people be different!😄

I just got this rope Hoya and I’d like to propagate it because it only has one stem - any thoughts on how to do this?
