Hoya Fuscomarginata bloomed for the first time for me and it won’t bother me a bit if it never blooms again. Not a pleasant smell for a flower.

I figured this was the perfect place to ask - what are things you wish you knew when you got into Hoyas? Do you have any tips for light / fertilizer / propagation / substrate / blooms? I realize tips may vary depending on the specific plant and this is a large topic. I’m just looking for a few tips. I am still fairly new to Hoya and I’m finding most super easy but a few are more difficult (that I bought as unrooted cuttings). Thanks for any tips and expert knowledge!

My compacta finally bloomed! She had been working on this since the summer. The smell is a little less chocolate and more floral compared to my krimson queen. Everyone says compacta blooms smells like chocolate covered strawberries but I honestly don’t get that đŸ€”

Today was watering day. Oye my back. While heaving the Hoya retusa back into its place, I found flowers. I have no idea for how long it’s been in bloom. All I know is there are five lovely little star shaped white flowers, with maroon centers and smelling faintly of honey. It’s the first time I’ve gotten a Hoya to bloom. I’ll be inspecting the rest very closely now. Super jazzed!

My Hoya Memoria (Gracilis) has a leaf shaped like a scoop! It’s the only one. I got it this summer and it has grown well with no issues. I hope to see it sun stressed some day when I can dedicate a grow light to it. The sun stress colors are coppery with a deep red tone on the newest leaves.

Hello friends! I’ve been interested in getting a few hoyas but am not sure what to expect from them! I mostly have plants that don’t bloom because I don’t like the smell of most flowers and get migraines easily. I’m just wondering how much the blooms smell and if the scents are overpowering? Would also like to know the best beginner hoyas if I do get one, and any advice you might have!

I had my Hoya for over 2 years, coming onto 3, it really hasn't grown much for however long I had it. It also doesn't look like it has any disease. Anyone knows why?

I am so very excited! I have been doing some progress reports today in a beautiful relax manner. Looking at all the Hoyas closely and marveling at the differences. Best yet I have found peduncles on quite a few! Lol perhaps it seems like quite a few since I expected to find none. Here is the latest one
just the mere breath of 2. 😀

I've wanted this one for a long time, finally have her. And, I think I'm done collecting until spring. (But don't hold your breath) Hoya Sulawesiana..

Hoya Kalimantan - when I got this plant I straight away rotted the main stem right off the roots. Lost many leaves in the process. Surprising how quickly root rot can take over when you are oblivious to it. It has been nicely rerooted and several newer leaves with another tiny one started so I upgraded its trellis. I love the dark thick cardboard type leaves with beautiful veins and shine.

I have discovered on some of my leaves scarring. Can anyone tell me what kind of bug and how to treat it? TIA

Hey all, would love help trying to identify my new collection! Planta, Picture This, Seek, and Google mostly just say wax plant, Hoya. I appreciate you hoarders đŸ«¶

Doing an experiment with trying to sun-stress my Lisa. I think she’ll be really cute with a reddish tint. Hopefully I’m doing it right đŸ€žđŸŸ

Two new Hoya.. Ganung Gading and likely my most treasured, Hoya Just Jake. I lost my son when he was 17. Yesterday was his 26th birthday.. When he was in high school there were a couple teachers that insisted on calling him Jacob & he'd always insist right back, "I'm just Jake.” So of course, I had to have it. 💚💚
