This is the hoya to get if you want one that’s easy to propagate in several mediums, low maintenance and you want to see a hoya bloom within a year. It’s Hoya Nummularioides. It’s not as well known as the popular hoyas like Hoya Krimson Queen and Hoya Kerrii. Cuttings propagated easily after I accidentally snapped branches! 😊 The texture of the vines are woody like twigs, unlike the typical hoya. Just the growing tips/leaves are fuzzy and slightly pliable. So, growing on a trellis will take effort. Treat it like a boxwood or bonsai and prune after blooming to control the shape. The ability for the smallest cuttings to quickly grow and put out blooms within weeks of propagating is one reason I am enamored with this hoya! It’s the blooming time of year right now. I recently got a large rescue that’s loaded with blooms! I have six of these, now, most from accidentally breaking branches. Give it a try. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi I’m new to Hoyas! Can someone tell me what’s wrong with mine?
…and we have bloom! Good job Hoya crassipetiolata!! 😍
I recently repotted and restaked my Hoya Kerrii and in the process I damaged it… now I don’t know what to do. I know she’ll bounce back but many of the teeny baby leaf sprouts were significantly damaged and turned black, so I cut them off… the tiniest little touch to those baby leaves just destroyed them and I’m so sad!!! A few healthy leaves snapped off. Some of the older leaves also took damage because I did this while the Hoya was thirsty… clearly a very bad idea. The softer leaves when pressed against anything accidentally got crinkled strangely and now that it’s been a day have gone all brown and thin. There’s only one upside to the damage. I know from experience that when the stem ‘bleeds’ a bit from bending, it significantly encourages new shoots, and within a month or so I always see an explosion of new growth in that area…. So I do expect her to bounce back soon. Still, I guess let this be a cautionary tale, because I lost so many leaves… Hoya are very hardy, but extremely delicate at the same time. Luckily I didn’t lose any peduncles 🫠 Anyone have big/heavy Hoya repot tips??
I found a spreadsheet on the types and most of the scents of many Hoyas, but I want input from people that really know. I want to order a Hoya that smells butterscotch like. I was thinking Hoya kentiana. (My plant parent level is intermediate. I live in zone 6a but I keep my house between 60-80 degrees and 40% or more humidity.) Anyone have one in this group?
So smitten..💚💚 Hoya Mitrata silver from Borneo
hello hoya lover friends 🫶🏼 i’m still new to the plant world but have fallen in love with hoyas. i got my first one about a year ago (hoya carnosa) & since have gotten more. however, i can only get one to really grow - and isn’t the one i’ve had for over a year. i’m gonna add pics off some of the various hoyas i have (i know what types they all are) but am looking for help because i would literally die of happiness if they any of one of them bloomed!!! please let me know any tips that you have for any of them 🥹
Can someone explain to my Australis that prop time is not the the time to bloom!!! Logic… nope, she don’t know her.
My Hoya Elliptica splash has bloomed.. She took the entire day to reflex at her leisure💚
what is wrong? Is it normal for these to have black edges?
Cuttings rooting together 🙃
Today’s plant project. I mounted my Hoya Serpens on a piece of driftwood so it can grow inside my large terrarium at very high humidity. I know they don’t like getting too warm so will have to monitor the temp inside the terrarium and observe how it is affecting the plant.
Hoya Tanggamus blooming
I had this hoya kerii for 10 years, my very first plant baby! She has gotten so tall over the years; about over 8ft now. I never was able to get it to produce perduncles for me but I still love this plant 😍
I have a Hoya Genevieve and it keeps getting weird spots on the leaves. I thought it was just the old leaves but it’s happening on the shiny newer leaves as well. No bugs. No scale. What is it? Some sort of fungus? What should I do? This is one of my favorite Hoyas. 😞
I got this Hoya David’s Green Cup in July from Plant Proper online. It has grown exceptionally well in 8 weeks. It’s a hybrid of Hoya Obovata and Hoya Carnosa. I have done very little to boost its growth. It’s in the original 4 inch nursery pot. It gets direct east light outside until 11am. Each day. It’s in bright shade the rest of the day. It gets fertilizer and SuperThrive about once a month.
Progress of my Hoya Verticillata (inner-variegated) from April to September. It grew well when placed outside in morning sunlight and bright afternoon shade.
Lost my only peduncle from over spraying copper fungicide :(! Sadness
Hello everyone! I’ve had this Oleander for a couple of months now, bought the plant this same size, and just a couple of flowers. I have her in my front porch and I water it at the schedule recommended by planta, yet I can’t keep to keep her alive. I can’t tell if it’s lack of water or overwatering. Any advice?
My Hoya obvata that I grew from a single leaf has finally had its first bloom after several years! I am soooo excited! 😊
