Hi Kezzy. Even the most expert Hoya expert could really tell you if you have a fungus from one leaf đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž BUT if it’s just the one and it looks like that, my guess would be probably not yet. I can be cell collapse from some kind of inconsistency. Check your watering habits, light exposure and pest probabilities to determine if you are providing the environment it needs. â˜źïž PS This looks like a latifolia not a carnosa😊

I noticed it on one of the leaves when I got it September 2023. I have absolutely neglected this plant until recently I’ve been very obsessive about indoor house plants. Someone said to water it more often and to put it in direct sunlight (I have Canadian light and it’s snowy, and put it on a trellis). It has grown a ton since I started doing that. Today I noticed it’s on another leaf and some speckled steams. I’ve been scouring the internet but I just can’t tell. I was watering it 1x a week and I just decided to go back to 1x every 2 weeks. I just bought a 3 in 1 fungicide to be proactive. Also thank you, I wasn’t sure what kind of Hoya I had but I think you are right.

these spots don’t look too bad, possibly from a watering issue. i really wouldn’t recommend watering your plant on a schedule, plants change how much water they use daily based on a number of factors such as temperature, humidity, airflow, lighting, season, and growth/dormancy. watering your plant on a schedule can mean you water too soon or too late

Yes very good point. When you say watering issues, you mean too much right? I have stopped using a schedule and I just check it daily now using this app as a general guide. From what I understand these guys like to get to 25% dry? I feel like I’ve been getting a lot of conflicting advice on water and sunlight.

Plant father stated it well when he said there are a lot of variables. See my reply to Melanie one post back as well 😊 You can get those kinds of spots from any inconsistency. You just have to find what they like.

Thank you! This makes me feel so much better, you guys are the best. This plant has become very sentimental to me. đŸ„°

happy i was able to help! by watering issues i meant any sort of improper watering like underwatering, overwatering, inappropriate media that either stays wet too long or dries out too fast, or the pot being too large or too small. i have found that hoya like to dry out almost entirely, at least 75% dry, but i also only have four species in my care, others have hundreds and may be able to comment on hoya overall with more confidence.
