I got this pretty lady at HD yesterday. I’m still a newbie to plants so if anyone has any suggestions to help her thrive please let me know!! :)

    It looks like a Hoya Carnosa. Keep it smaller pots to avoid root rot. You can repot to larger pots when the leaves starts to yellow from being root bound. It can slow down leaf and stem growth to put out roots first after repotting. Fertilize regularly. This one looks a little light for a Carnosa. Avoid standard potting soil when you repot. It typically contains peat moss and is too dense for a hoya that likes lots of air around its roots because they are tree climbers (epiphytes). A chunky mix containing coconut husk chunks, coco coir, perlite, orchid bark chips, worm castings and sometimes charcoal is better.

      Thank you! It is in a 4 in nursery pot right now, I did repot her when I got her & used a chunky soil mix. Should I wait until it’s completely dry to re water it ?

      Always let hoya soil dry out. They are very good as storing water in their leaves. They form a clear and sometimes splashy coating that keeps moisture in.
