My hoya put out flower buds about 5-6 weeks ago. The blooming seems to be paused. None have fully bloomed. Fortunately, they have not blasted. Any advice for a confused Hoya Shepardii owner on how to get it to finish this process? 🫤 I have several hoyas blooming next to it. I bought a full size plant last year. It had old peduncles on it when it was delivered. It didn’t bloom last year. It has both old and new peduncles with buds this year. It lives outside in full direct morning sun and bright shade the rest of the day. Both humidity and temps are high. The white on the leaves are hard water deposits.

    I’ve not cared for this specific Hoya so I can’t say for sure, but do you water the same amount when they’re about to bloom. I tend to water just a tad more often to keep them from blasting

      I water as soon as the soil dries when they put out peduncles. It’s outside and gets rainwater too about once every two weeks. I have to be careful not to overwater. I will just keep waiting.

    I recently started fertilizing with espoma tomato fertilizer when my hoyas are blooming and this year is the most blooms I have ever had....I have been a crazy hoya lady for six years now.🤣

    Oooo I've been wanting a shepardii. I love the long slender leaves. Not sure why the flowering paused though. Interested in what other have to say.
