Part of my post describing situation is in form of photo—noticed I’d written it in wrong place so took a screen shot (wouldn’t let me copy). Any advice or help of any kind would be appreciated!

    Are those parts crispy as if they were about to die?

    No. They are dry, feel VERY dehydrated, able to fold over onto themselves flat with no resistance or ‘bounce back’. None of them crumble between my fingers when manipulating them (like if you were doing the “taco test”). I’ve marked the leaves that feel pretty “normal” in bright pink. They are all at the base of the plant except for a small section that is on a small stem grown out of a larger one. I’ll go back and mark them in yellow. Thank you for your reply! I’d really love to get her back to a healthy state. She is one of my very favorites, or was, she is now put me in a constant anxiety state worrying about what to do.

      Do you fertilize? If so how often and were there any changes recently?

      I’m not so sure you can rehydrate those really dry flat leaves. I’d cut off the worse of them, trim back from the top and try and propagate what you cut off. Save the best of the plant to allow it to rehydrate what it can and give it plenty of water but let it dry out till it’s one finger deep dry. It’s going to take a lot of work, so keep a close eye on it.

      This is what she looks like now. I have 4-5 cuttings waiting to callous over where the latex is leaking and then I’ll add the water. I read a few days to wait and I read and I read 12-24 hours. Any recommendations? I’ll keep an eye on her and see how things progress. Thank your for sharing your knowledge (and everyone)! I’ll update with changes. 🌱🌱🌱🌱

    Have you checked the roots for any signs of distress? If the roots look good, I’d try trimming that piece off and seeing if it helps, but I wondering if it’s a root problem or the plant needs repotting and this is its way of showing signs it needs a move. Hope this helps.

    I’ll check the roots in the morning. I fertilize every watering with a diluted solution that adds up to the recommended amount. I use Dyna GRO Foliage Pro fertilizer. Nothing was new or changed coinciding with this happening. I hate to chop it off, but my gut keeps telling me that’s what needs done. Thanks a lot for your input and I’ll check the roots and go from there in thee morning.

    Here is what I have in front of me. What should I do now? Chop? If so, is there any point in cuttings put into water?

      Also, just dawned on me that it was in a 6” Plastic pot. That might be part of the problem, too. The soil felt too wet to have been watered 5 days ago. That’s when the above info came together for me. All my other Hoyas are in Terra Cotta pots. This is one that I’ve had much longer before I knew about needing to put in clay pots.

      Maybe cut back on fertilizer to only every other watering. It could potentially be fertilizer burn accompanied by root loss. I would repot in a chunky soil mix and take it from there.
