Mrs.Fernandez

Can anyone help identify this? The seller was unsure of the name and said it had never bloomed for her. The mother plant had super long leaves, probably close to 2ft in length.

@Herektty that’s is exactly what I’m thinking it is because when I went into the google rabbit hole lol, last night trying to identify it, that’s exactly what it shows. Do you happen to know any care tips for the H. Meliflua? Thank you so much for responding to my post 😀

Part sun, no direct sun and water when dry. They’re pretty easy going!

Imperialis is a good one to search too. It’s hard to identify from a photo, but on second viewing, the thickness or thinness of the leaf is a tell. Meliflua leaves are thick like they could be made of rubber. Imperialis has a thinner but stiff leaf.

The leaves are super thick and super long. The lady I bought it from said she had never gotten it to bloom and I was reading that they are difficult to get to bloom. I’m thinking it’s a Meliflua and hopefully I can get it to bloom to confirm it. Thank you for helping me out!

Here’s a pic of mine with more leaves for comparison. I wish I had a pic of a baby leaf. They come in thick. They never have thinner leaves. Would be easier if I could touch the leaves. They are very different species. The mystery can be fun though 😊

Stunning 😍 The lady I bought it from had it in pretty wet potting soil with a pretty heavy infestation of aphids and I’m wondering if that could’ve caused the leaf issues because it has some small leaves on it that are super thick just like the main leaves, only time will tell and I will be happy either way! If I get it to bloom I will post an update 😀
