My first Hoya is doing really well. Her name is Lola! I got her in a mystery plant box. I repotted her last week because her soil didn’t look great and I think she is thriving. She has grown the large branch and new leaves mostly over this past week. Since she is my first Hoya, I was wondering if I need to get her a trellis soon? Is that necessary for her to be happy?
They can grow well just hanging off the pot. You can get a bamboo u-shaped trellis when it gets unruly. Pubicalyx plants put out lots of growth each season. They are touchy feely too. They like to hug their neighbors.😁

It depends on how you’d like it to look once it matures. If you’d like it to become a trailing plant where the leaves hang over the sides, then you can just leave it alone and let it do its thing. If you want it to climb, then a trellis is great for that 😊 hope this helps

좋아요 1개I let the plant tell me what it needs. If it’s got long vines that sort of go out but not trailing over the edge I put it on a trellis. If it’s unruly I put it on a trellis. But if it’s arching gracefully over the edge, not just leaning I leave it to itself. But I let it tell me what it needs. Is trellis yours. It’s not trailing and doesn’t look like it’s happy. Any trellis will do.
