So this is my Hoya Pubicalyx. Her name is Ridley (named after the most important girl I know). Sheā€™s easily my favorite plant. I find her extremely unique and I could stare at her all day. The ease of caring for her makes me love her even more. People say Hoyas are difficult plants, but I donā€™t get that at all. The ones I have are low maintenance. Just follow their care instructions and they thrive like the sweet, angelic creatures they are. The other pics are of some circular trellises that I ordered online for my Hoyas. I cannot wait to get them and put my girls on them. Itā€™s going to be the most perfect thing I ever saw. My Hoyas have been ready for a trellis for a while now and I finally found the perfect ones. Iā€™ll share pics of them when theyā€™re all setup on the trellises. Is it a good or bad thing that Iā€™m so very excited about something like this?

    Oh wow I am in love with the trellis in the last pic, with the colorful stones. Itā€™s so unique and is going to look gorgeous when paired with your Hoya. šŸ˜ Iā€™m excited for you!!

      Yes!!! Itā€™s my favorite too! I canā€™t hardly wait. I shouldā€™ve paid for rush shipping haha! My family thinks Iā€™m odd for being so excited about these things.

      I have the same type of Hoya (her name is Lola) and I am enjoying her so much I just ordered a second, a variegated Lisa Australis. Mine has been such an easy plant to care for also and I just ordered her first trellis and it should arrive Monday!

      I love this for you šŸ’š I only have one other hoya itā€™s a a Hoya Carnosa. I have a third plant that I was told by a nursery employee was a Hoya and I didnā€™t question it because it really looks like one. After a while of caring for it incorrectly and repotting all wrong I got concerned and started researching it. Itā€™s turned out to be a Lipstick Plant or Black Pagoda (whichever you prefer) and it doesnā€™t like anything that Hoyas like. She was a good bit more expensive than my Hoyas. Of course part of that was due to the fact that my Hoyas were babies in 2 inch pots when I bought them and Mrs. Lipstick was in a 8-9 inch hanging pot and she was MASSIVE and spilling out of her pot and the most gorgeous girl at the ball that day. My goodness sheā€™s a beaut. Anyways sheā€™s taken some stress and damage from improper care so sheā€™s lost a little weight, but sheā€™s on the mend and slowly getting back to her old stunning self. This is a current pic of her. Iā€™m impatiently waiting on my trellises to arrive. Mine will be here tomorrow!

    You can go out of town for a long weekend and know your hoyas will be fine when you return!šŸ˜ They hold water well and donā€™t act up. My two Pubicalyx plants are avid leaf growers that outgrew their circular trellises in a year! They got too heavy. I donā€™t want to trim them for fear of stunting the growth of peduncles.

      Yes! Hoyas are those sweet, quiet girls w/impeccable mannersā€¦they never complain, are always kind, easy to please, always willing to go w/the flow and not rock the boat and extremely self sufficient. Iā€™ve never had a more pleasant and agreeable plant.
