Hey☺️ I’m a first time Hoya plant parent and I don’t know what to expect from this plant cause it was gifted and I don’t know which Hoya it is. Will more leaves grow and is misting okay for humidity? Any tips or info will be appreciated 🫶🏾

It’s difficult to identify. The photo is taken in the shaded side with backlighting. The leaf markings are not clear. Plus, the leaves have several shapes that are not distinctive. Take a photo with bright light on the plant. More leaves will grow if the plant gets sufficient water, light and fertilizer like other plants. Hoyas can live in small pots. Repotting will send energy to grow roots and delay blooming. They like soil with lots of drainage including aggregates or a chunky coconut husk mix. I don’t regularly mist plants for fear of growing mold from my past experiences. I prefer humidifiers that provide tiny fast drying water vapor.

0 gillningarI’ve added another clearer photo if it helps
0 gillningarI’m not sure what it is. My ID software says it’s a Carnosa. It looks like a Hoya iliagiorum, but, that one doesn’t have wide splashy leaves.
1 gillaThanks for your help. I’ll just be patient and monitor it
1 gillaThe blooms will be a better indicator.

The palmate vasculature and leaf shape tells me it is a latifolia type. Can’t be 100% sure the flowers will tell you which it is. Water when mostly dry probably shouldn’t let this one go bone dry.
