How do you know if Hoya tendrils are still alive? All of these are newish (a couple months with me and under grow lights) and in the condition I purchased them. In the Australis Lisa there is a lower stem that was broken - will it grow a new stem? Luckily the other stem is putting out new leaves. The other two I have seen no new growth from. And I’m not sure where to look for new growth. Not sure of how the tendrils should look.

The long stem behind the Lisa is from the krimson queen and dark and dry looking.

Dead stems will look brown and are dried out and brittle. If you are not sure then leave it. It’s still a little early in the season for new growth (depending on where you live). They also may need to acclimate. Or they are working on root growth and will later put out new, visible growth. Some varieties take longer to show new growth than others. Just be patient for now :)

Ok sounds good. I was a little worried that stems looked dead but they aren’t brittle or falling off so just dormant I guess. Thanks :)

Im in Zone 9a. My hoyas started putting out new leaves within the last month since the weather is warmer and their growing season has started. Almost 3/4 of them had slow or now growth this winter except the Hoya Iris Marie, Krimson Princess/Queen and the Pubicaylix. See the pictures. New leaves on Hoyas (Rosita, Rebecca, Pubicalix/Wayetti cuttings in water, Krimson Queen)

Thank you! I have them under grow lights as natural light is not optimal for them in my space right now. I’ll be patient. I guess they’re just dormant :)

The last one (albomarginata?) looks like it’s starting a peduncle! Mine haven’t made it to the flower stage yet without dropping the buds, but it’s still cool to see it try
