Just wondering if I should cut off this stem and try to make a new start? What do you think? Thanks

    No. Do not cut it. It is searching for light plus, it’s also reaching out to grow more. Definitely do not cut them. It’s actually a great sign that that is happening. I would definitely maybe give it some more light. I don’t know where you have it in your home. Mines in a self facing window. Mine is great. Also in an area if I need to grow light. My Hoya rope Actually took almost 2 years to grow that sort of vine.

      Thanks. I just got it today and this is the first hoya of this type I have. I have them in a South facing window but I keep a grow light on them too.

    I would wait until it settles in a few weeks of you really want to prop it.

      Hoyas like to be compact in their soil. So I wouldn’t really put it in that pot for a while. Especially this type of Hoya rope compacta. Hence the name. But you can just put it in there as a decorative pot for a while. But don’t be surprised on the slow growth in the beginning. Mine took about two years to finally grow. And now it’s going gangbusters.

      Great thanks. I have already set it in the pot till its ready to plant cause it does look a lot nicer. I will wait to repot it . Thanks

      They are very very slow growing. They don’t like to get soggy or fungus takes over so terracotta type Pots work best for these so they absorb the excess moisture. Never go up a pot size unless root bound and then only go up an inch or so. Rope plant was my nemesis. After 2 deaths and mealy bugs I finally have one that’s growing and almost 8 inch long ropes now ❀ patients is important with this plant and don’t water till it’s dry
