I’m not as successful with my Hoya plants as I have been with my others. I got this one just a few weeks ago. She had 2 pinkish leaves that both fell off on their own. She was also very floppy when she arrived in the mail. The bottom leaves have been like that since she arrived. She is no longer floppy and seems to be healthier, but I’m not the best at being able to tell. She feels sturdy in her pot now. My other one had a trailing vine that I accidentally broke off! 😭 I think they’re getting the correct water and sun ratios. What do you think? Do they look OK? Do you have any advice?

    I just learned they like a lot of light so I stuck mine by a grow light and it popped out two leaves

    I like to feel the leaves and do the taco test. When they are bendy they need water, when they are stiff they don't. Doesn't work for all hoya, but it works for my thicker leaf ones.

      Don’t wait till you can bend them like a taco. Check the soil by poking your finger on the soil about an inch down. If it’s dry, it needs water. And for the future go get a moisture meter. They will be invaluable.

      Like I said, this doesn't work for all hoya. But it works well with the varieties I have and prevents me from over watering them. I wait until the leaves are bendy. Not completely foldable, just a little give. I check the soil as well, but start checking the leaves once it's dry when I put my finger in the soil.

      It helps to feel the leaves after they are watered so you know what it feels like when it's plum and just had a drink. That way you'll be able to tell the difference in the leaves when they are thirsty.

    I do the same process as Lisa. I let almost all of my Hoyas dry out completely before watering. Having your plants in clear pots help to see if they are dry too. I do think there are a few that like more water than others like bella and wayetti. Those I’ll water when they are 75% dry
