I'm a year into being a planty parent, I started off with Cactus and Philodendron, As of today, I'm a proud parent of Hoyas.. I have a Hoya Heusckeliana Variegated, Hoya Krimson Queen, Hoya Australis Variegated Albo and 2 Hoya Mathilde Splash... I'm so nervous, the shipping experience was kind of horrifying, I received these plants in poor conditions. I lost half my HKQ, Could you tell me if they look healthy, I have them under a barrina t5 full spectrum led grow light inside my greenhouse cabinet, humidity 50%~60% ..warmth.. 72°~80° They're repotted in Molly's around mix so they'll be in chunkier, airier mix.. Clear shallow pots with big drainage holes, sitting inside a cover pot. Thank you✌🏽🌿

    I’m currently waiting for my first two Hoyas that are in the mail from Florida to Virginia so I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 but I’m trying to decide between self watering or net pots like you have. I’m tempted to do one of each and see what I like best. I like the varieties you have, very pretty 😍

      I got my Hoya pots from Etsy, they're actually little orchid pots, they have the best drainage holes on the bottom. You can see the root system also bc they're clear. Plus you can put these on a hanging gadget and hang your Hoya that is long and lush. They were reasonably priced too and fast shipping. I also got my Hoya from Florida, the place I purchased mine, I'll never buy from again, they looked like rescue plants when I received them. My Hoya Krimson Queen is dropping her leaves as she was when I got her, when I received them, they were literally in pieces and yellowing. I'll add photos...

      Oh my that’s terrible disappointing! I have received succulents that made me cry when I opened the box. I spread all the leaves out in a bonsai pot to propagate them I used to spend a fortune on Etsy but lately I’ve been using an app called Shop for plants. I miss TEMU for my pots. I found some clear orchid pots with holes in my closet that I forgot I had and I’m sure I have some net pots somewhere that I use for my nepenthes lol

      I have so many issues when it comes to propagation, if it's not done in water or sphagnum moss, it's a fail for me. I can't even get a wet stick to do anything. I recently had to chop my pink princess and OMGOSH I had to trash wet sticks bc I couldn't get them to do anything.. but I have her cutting in water. I have tried propagating hens and chicks , no progress.. lol and I do it just as the video says. I've even used rooting hormone. Those leaves just don't like me. 😂 Have you ever ordered from Gabriella's Plants? I got my Philodendron from her. I love her plants. I have shop on my phone, I have seen items that I would love to get but just scared bc I take chances and then get sent bad stuff. Now I'm cautious and make sure I read all reviews..

      Gabriella is where I just ordered from and I’ll know today if they know how to pack a box. They were kind enough to combine two orders for me so I only have to pay once for shipping. I ordered a krohniana black and a hybrid that was only $8 and I had to get it cause I love a bargain lol

    I have a ridiculous amount of plants and though I love how the Calatheas look, my Hoyas are probably my favorites overall 😍

      I have to be honest, my favorite tropical plant is Philodendrons, but my go to is Cactus 🌵 I love Cactus plants, yes they bite you once in awhile but you just have to show em whose boss, haha! 😹 I fell in love with them January 24' now I have a love an addiction for ALL GREEN SPECIMENS!! 😂

      I’m in Arizona and started with cactus! I love them but crazily found most of them couldn’t take full sun like I expected. Full sun does not mean Arizona sun apparently, lol. Still love my cactus, but have been growing my indoor collection now. Of course, now I battle the low humidity…

    Yes, I've also learnt that cactus can easily burn with hot temps and strong sun, I've always thought that they could handle the sun bc you think desert 🏜️ I scorched a few of mine in the beginning. A few of mine only like the first 4/6 hours of morning sun, then I put them in indirect sunlight on my porch balcony banister..where it's covered. Some can be very finicky about their environment. This winter, my husband built me a greenhouse shelf cabinet, I got barrina t5 full spectrum led grow lights inside, I put them about 6 inches from them and they acted like it was growing season, they were growing new pads, crazy looking arms on my prickly pear opuntia "fat fingers" cactus.. I was a happy person. 😂 But I would definitely LOVE to visit a place with cactus plants.. that's my dream! 😁
