Hi everyone, I’m new to the group and the app. Hoping it brings a little organization to my chaotic plant life! 😅 I am definitely a Hoya Hoarder. My first ever plant I propagated from a cutting was a Hoya, I was hooked from then on. Here is my first plant, still thriving but looking for any advice on how I can improve caring for it now that it is over 30.

OMG!! Never seen before an Hoya Compacta of this size!!!! Wow! You should most definitely be very very proud of yourself! This is an absolutely stunner! Well done for looking after it all these years! You must definitely doing something right up there! 💚👏🏼

Are some of the ropes yellow? Perhaps it’s the light and image. I know they like to be root bound BUT if it’s too root bound than some of it may be fighting for water and oxygen. When was the last time you up potted and had a good look at the roots? They also tend to go like chucky mixes. I think, check the roots, prune the not so happy leaves ( pruning promotes growth) and fertilize every other watering. Super thrive is also a good vitamin to add to the watering cycle. Reach out to unsolicited plant talk ( quick google search) and they will def recommend best practices. Their blog is also great. Also, Where are you located?
1 me gusta Thank you Sage, She hasn’t been repotted in a while, I’m actually getting ready to do that this month (not an easy task with this one 😅). There is a little yellowing but it actually has been improving. I moved and she had a hard time with the transition, both with physically moving and with the lighting situation at my new place. All of the new growth is coming in a really nice dark green. I will absolutely look into the Super Thrive and “Unsolicited Plant Talk” I’m from southern New Jersey. I really appreciate the advice.
