I’m doing my best to get a good picture. Mr Hoya Jr seems pretty happy overall, but I’m a little concerned aboit the spots on his leaves. Dr Planta wouldn’t focus on the spots at all for the diagnosis thing, but its best guess was generic watering issues… Is this sun stress on the leaves? He’s in a 4” ceramic draining pot with rePotme’s Imperial Hoya soil mix. I mist him every other day and water him 1x/week (sometimes more like every 10 days with pregnancy brain).
It’s very pale for a Carnosa which are typically dark green. It may need more fertilizer. The spots look like sun stress especially if it gets full direct sun.
1 Like Ok. I thought the bright green was essentially because he’s such a little guy (only about a year since I propagated him). He sits in a ENE facing window, so there’s a fair amount of light, but I’m not sure I would call it full, direct light. Thanks for the advice though!
0 LikesI think it needs a more draining soil. That looks pretty dry and compacted. The other thing is your washing your time misting the plant u less you stand and do it every minute, you’re not doing much good. Just group a bunch of plants to gather. The moisture in the soil raises the surrounding humidity better than anything. I water and fertilize every week to ten days. Invest in a moisture meter. Check the souldkwn about half way to 3/4 way down in the lit. Nitro it read it but feel if the preventing out any damp soil on it when you remove it. If not or reads low, then water it. They don’t like to be dry. They like drying out. Don’t do the taco test on the leaves. If th ey fold, it’s too late and it needed watering before it reached that point. As for the spots are they growing? Are there more than there were? It may be damage from when it was younger. If they are getting bigger or more spots are appearing then try chair got, take a picture and maybe that can help you.
