    Awesome! Love the idea of using a “jewelry pouch” tied to it. What advantages do they provide? Never have I seen it with plants.

      The seeds have the fluff like dandelions that easily blows away to help the seeds land away from the mother plant. The gauze party favor pouch traps the seeds when the seed pods open. It allows air circulation to avoid rot and mold.

    My Lacunosa did this a couple summers ago and I saved the seeds but never planted them. Same for my string of hearts silver glory

    Very interesting post for me! When and how often does a Hoya grow seed pods? Does the previous question depend upon the Hoya, like to they all differ? Do they look similar on every Hoya? Thanks for any answers, I didn’t actually know anything about this process until I read this! Do you need a male and a female plant for this to happen? These questions probably sound rather dumb to those more knowledgeable. I just want to be prepared-and Learn🌱🌱🌱

      I know they need to cross pollinate. But, hoya flowers are not that easy to pollinate based on their structure. I believe tiny sugar ants might have pollinated mine. I’ve watched them run in and out of the flower even before they fully open. I’ve only gotten bc about 5 seed pods on 4 different hoyas in the last year.

      The pods come in different sizes depending on the plant variety and maturity of the pods. My Hoya Krohniana in the photos show seed pods at different levels of maturity. The dry yellow color means it’s about to split open.

      Thanks for the info! Understand it much better now. Maybe mine will have one some day. I have those little ants that run around too from time to time. It’s raining every day in Florida where I live and the are persistent little creatures at this time of year!
