Hi! I was hoping to get some advice on my Hoya Krimson Queen. Some of the leaves are curling into a kind of “dome” shape, but they’re still firm and healthy, no yellowing, mushiness, or pests. I recently bought it and I’m wondering if this is just normal for this variety, or if it could be related to watering or soil/drainage. The roots look good and there’s no rot smell.
Maybe check for either flat It’s or mealy bugs. For the flat mites you will need a small microscope to see them. I hear they especially like Hoyas. The ones you can buy on Amazon you buy and then get the app on your phone. You turn on the app and then use the microscope to send pictures and videos to the app. Then you can see the mites. I haven’t had them so I don’t know how to treat them. If it’s mealy bugs. Look for little fluffy looking spots on the plant. The treatment for mealies is rubbing alcohol. And you’ll need to spray the entire plant and repeat every three days for a couple weeks because of their short life span. They replicate very quickly. And you’ll need to kill them every three days to kill all the new babies. I use 99% alcohol. You can get this on Amazon. Good luck with figuring what it is.
좋아요 1개 I don’t think it’s mealy bugs, but I’ll DEFINITELY look into the flat mites. I treat my plants once a week with insecticidal soap and it’s seemed to work for me but I didn’t even know about flat mites! Thank you so much!
